Daly receives 2011 ASME Orr Early Career Award

Sam DalyME Assistant Professor Sam Daly has been awarded the 2011 ASME Orr Early Career Award. This Early Career Award is given by the Orr Family through the Materials Division of the ASME to recognize early career research excellence in the general area of Failure of Materials, with particular emphasis on experimental, computational, and/or theoretical aspects of fatigue, fracture, or creep.

Daly is the leader of the Active Materials and Mechanics Laboratory, which focuses on research involving the intersection of experimental mechanics and materials science, with an emphasis on using novel methods of experimentation coupled closely with theoretical and computational modeling.
