Seven U-M ME graduate students have received Graduate Research Fellowships (GRF) from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2023. The NSF GRF Program’s goal in offering these fellowships is to increase the nation’s human capacity in science and engineering by fostering early-career graduate students, thereby bolstering a diverse and globally-engaged U.S. science and engineering workforce. With seven recipients, the University of Michigan’s Department of Mechanical Engineering continues to lead nationally in NSFs awarded to mechanical engineering graduate students.
