ME PhD Candidate, Deokkyun Yoon, was recently selected as the first recipient of 3M/ASPE scholarship to attend the 30th ASPE Annual Meeting to present his research findings. He also placed 2nd in the Student Manufacturing Design Competition at the 2015 ASME International Manufacturing Science & Engineering Conference held between June 8 and 12 in Charlotte, NC. Both awards were based on his work on a magnet assisted stage that simultaneously improves energy efficiency and reduces unwanted vibration in precision wafer scanning. Yoon is advised by Prof. Chinedum Okwudire at the Mechatronics and Sustainability Research Lab.
